One of EastEnders' most historic wedding episodes is going to be shown again on the BBC.
BBC One has confirmed Syed Masood and Amira Shah's wedding will be screened in the weekly classic episode slot next Tuesday (July 7).
Originally transmitted on New Year's Day 2010, this second-half of a two-parter remains a landmark of EastEnders history because it brought Syed (Marc Elliott) and Christian Clarke's (John Partridge) secret relationship to light for the Ahmeds.
What to Read Next
This episode picks up with Syed's mother Zainab Masood (Nina Wadia) stunned over the revelation about her son only hours before the nuptials.
As the ceremony gets underway, tension rises over whether Christian will stop the wedding, if Syed will finally speak his truth or if the ceremony will somehow go off as planned. There is even more drama in this episode, when the truth about Darren Miller (Charlie G. Hawkins) and Heather Trott (Cheryl Fergison) comes out too.
The wedding kicked off a period where Syed Masood and Christian Clarke's same-sex relationship became a central focus of EastEnders, until it was announced actors Marc Elliott and John Partridge would exit together in 2012.
Elliott has since insisted a return to the soap is unlikely, explaining a few years back: "I don't think there'll be enough time!
"I reckon my EastEnders days are done, to be honest. I had an incredible time which I think came to a very satisfying conclusion, so I'm happy to say that it's in the past now. I don't see myself going back there."
The actor has since turned up for multiple stints in Holby City as surgeon Isaac Mayfield, most recently returning for some episodes last year.
Classic EastEnders continues tonight (June 30) at 7.30pm on BBC One with 1994's Sharongate revelation.
