Kellie Bright has delighted EastEnders co-star Danny Dyer by revealing that Linda Carter wasn't the first character she played on the BBC soap.
The on-screen couple were back together on the BBC on Monday night (June 22) for the first edition of Secrets from the Square, where EastEnders cast members sit down for socially-distanced chats about all things Walford with host Stacey Dooley.
During the episode, some vintage footage was shown from Kellie's first-ever appearance on the soap in 1986 as a child actress — with Danny revealing he had no idea about the childhood cameo.
"In '86, I was at Lofty and Michelle's wedding," Kellie revealed. "I was just an extra. We used to call ourselves extras in those days. No, I was a supporting artist back then."
"Phew," Danny interjected. "Close one!"
Kellie went on: "I had to come in late, my mum had to walk me up the aisle because I wanted to go to the loo or something. I think… the only shot of me you saw was the back of my head!

"I think you just see my long, blonde hair. I was wearing a peach dress. I remember it very well… I was coming on 10."
In the brief scene, Kellie was indeed shot only from behind walking down the aisle of the church and whacking a little boy on the back of the head as her mum dragged her to her seat.
It would be another 27 years before she would return to Albert Square, this time as Queen Vic landlady Linda Carter, alongside Danny Dyer as her husband Mick.
Two others who were present for Kellie's childhood EastEnders debut were Letitia Dean (aka Sharon) and Adam Woodyatt (aka Ian), both of whom will be joining Stacey Dooley on next week's Secrets from the Square.
EastEnders: Secrets from the Square airs Mondays at 8pm on BBC One, with new episodes having just been announced.
