EastEnders' Isaac Baptiste is about to discover a shocking secret about his family. In scenes airing next week (May 4 and 5) he finds out that his stepdad Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) is in fact his biological father.
Isaac's mum Sheree Trueman (Suzette Llewellyn) confessed the truth to Patrick earlier this year, but Isaac has remained in the dark until now.
Things will soon come to a head during Sheree's birthday celebrations when an increasingly suspicious Isaac demands to know the truth and the news about his true paternity will come as a real shock.

Stevie Basaula, who plays Isaac, told Inside Soap that the news will be a big thing for Isaac to process and he will struggle to come to terms with what it means.
"After he finds out that Patrick is his dad, he also hears that his mum and Patrick had an affair all those years ago – it's a lot to get his head around! Then Sheree and Patrick go to Trinidad, and Isaac's left to deal with it on his own," he explained.

But despite all of the secrets and lies, Basaula is hoping that Isaac and Patrick will be able to create a proper bond now that the truth is out.

"I don't think Patrick is like any of the men Sheree's brought into Isaac's life before – so I think if and when Isaac gives him that chance, Patrick will be a great dad," the actor said. "From Patrick's point of view, he feels he has a lot of making up to do, as his relationships with his other sons, Paul and Anthony, haven't gone well."
Whether Isaac and Patrick can now develop a positive relationship remains to be seen, but either way, Basaula revealed that when he found out about the storyline he was excited "to know I was going to be a part of the Trueman legacy".
Having been in the Square since the New Year, Isaac is now starting to settle into Walford life and Basaula is keen for him to explore relationships with some other characters away from his family.
"I'd love to see him have a relationship with Patrick, but I'd also love to see him in a romantic relationship," he said.
"Who would be a good match for him? I want to say Whitney (Dean, played by Shona McGarty) – they're both really complex characters, so that could be good. Or maybe Ruby (Allen), because Louise Lytton – who plays her – is really cool and lovely."
EastEnders is currently airing on Monday and Tuesday evenings on BBC One.
