EastEnders star Max Bowden has teased his character Ben Mitchell and Callum Highway's future to Digital Spy, as well as the soap's upcoming 35th anniversary.
Last week, fans saw Ballum finally get back together after Ben ditched his plans to flee the country with Phil, Louise and Lisa.
Viewers know that Ben had been planning to escape after Keanu Taylor's supposed murder, but chose to stay with Callum and his daughter Lexi in Walford.

Discussing Ballum's future on the NTAs red carpet, Max told Digital Spy: "Well, I guess nothing is ever going to be plain sailing, but certainly at this moment they're being honest with each other. Hopefully, it's a step forward in their relationship."
When asked if he likes seeing Ballum happy, the actor continued: "Absolutely. Who doesn't want to see a bit of light among the dark?

EastEnders is soon celebrating its 35th anniversary, which the soap will mark with a week of special episodes in February taking place on the River Thames.
"I think you saw pretty much everybody on that paparazzi photo on location," Max teased about the show's anniversary episodes. "And that's all I can say – everybody will be involved. And that's what you can look forward to."
While Max didn't want to spoil whether we'll see Keanu (Danny Walters) back, he explained: "Danny is an amazing actor, if we can have him back on the soap all the time, we'll be lucky.
"I think for the two characters, Ben and Keanu, it always creates a challenge and it creates a battle."
Addressing how Ben would feel about Keanu still being alive, Max added: "I think it would be a bit of a compos mentis feeling with the fact that there's kind of two ways you can look at it.
"There's the relief that he's not dead, but also the darkness that he's failed his dad again."
EastEnders continues on Thursday (January 30) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
