EastEnders has lined up even more heartbreaking scenes for Callum Highway and Ben Mitchell over Christmas.
The fan-favourite couple split up in Friday's (December 20) episode, when Ben (Max Bowden) lied to Callum (Tony Clay) by telling him that he wasn't in love with him.
In reality, Ben is protecting Callum from being implicated in Phil's (Steve McFadden) revenge plot to murder the father of his wife Sharon's (Letitia Dean) unborn child.

The two will come face-to-face again on Christmas Eve when Callum decides to take some time away from Walford in order to escape his heartbreak.
Callum can't run too far because he bumps into Ben as he prepares to leave, and is stunned by the callous way his former boyfriend reacts to seeing him.

In spite of the turmoil for #Ballum at the moment, Max Bowden remains optimistic that Callum and Ben will eventually find their way back to one another.
"The most fundamental thing in Ben's life is to get to that level playing field with Phil," he explained to Digital Spy recently. "Ben can't go straight, it's in his nature – as much as he may try, it's embedded.
"It's about acceptance of who he is. I'd like to see them get back together – we'll have to wait to see."
EastEnders airs these scenes on Christmas Eve at 7.30pm on BBC One.
