EastEnders slipped a last-minute scene into Friday night's (December 13) episode, which made a cheeky reference to Thursday's general election.
Hours after the result came in, which saw Boris Johnson's Conservative Party win a heavy majority, the BBC One soap was quick to shoot a scene outside the cafe with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) and Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell).
Asked by Kathy if she was coming to Ian Beale's campaign launch, Karen said that she would "rather eat a box of washing powder" than hear more politics.
Kathy then revealed that Ian was joyful over the election result, going on to hint that she herself is a Brexiteer.
She said: "I just think people voted for something three years ago and they want that to happen. Everyone is sick of being stuck. Going nowhere."
Karen admitted that she hadn't "even heard of half of these places that have voted Tory", but Kathy retorted: "That's half the problem. Londoners forget half the country exists."

Karen then made a cheeky dig at Boris Johnson, who appeared to hide in a fridge earlier this week to avoid an interview with Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan.
As she left, Karen said: "Well I'm going to hide... in the fridge."
