You might not always get the gifts you were hoping for, but if there's one thing that's certain to deliver over the festive period, it's the EastEnders Christmas special.
Christmas might be three months away, but the soap's boss Kate Oates has been ramping up expectations for the typically dramatic episode, promising a "massive story" when Keanu Taylor and Sharon Mitchell's affair is finally exposed.
Speaking to The Sun about the inevitable Sheanu fallout, Kate warned that Mel Owen will be at the centre of it. Following the death of her son Hunter, Mel is hell-bent on revenge because "she's very driven and bitter".

Teasing the ongoing blackmail plot between Mel and Sharon, she added: "That's a really big drive through autumn, and then it's going to be a massive story at Christmas.
"And what I like about it is all of the fallout, if I asked you to guess the fallout now, you wouldn't guess what we've got."
This isn't the first time EastEnders has hinted at a big reveal for Albert Square's messiest and most salacious affair – Kate recently admitted that things are going to get "pretty big" for the pair over Christmas.
