EastEnders' Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) will go missing after her cancer secret is exposed to the rest of the family.

Fans were left heartbroken last week as Jean received the worrying news from her GP that she may have a cancerous lump in her abdomen.

Of course, viewers know that this is sadly paving the way for Jean to be eventually diagnosed with ovarian cancer, but she still decided to bury her concerns and suffer in silence instead.

Not wanting to alarm anyone, Jean decided against sharing the news with Stacey when she arrived at home, believing that the family have enough to deal with already.

But new scenes will see Kat Slater come across Jean's appointment letter, causing her to confront Jean about her health. However, Jean will demand that Kat keeps Stacey in the dark over what's going on.

Kat refuses to keep it a secret from Stacey, who immediately assumes the worst for her mother's health and tells her to get a follow-up appointment straight away.
