Zara is anxious but plasters on a smile as she presents Daniel with breakfast in bed and allows Joe to join him. Daniel is not buying it, but has his own worries.
Ayesha visits to change Daniel's dressings and when she lets herself in, she is presented by a cricket bat clattering down the stairs and a weak Daniel standing on the landing. She helps him back into bed, and gently but pointedly teases him about trying to be a hero when he should concentrate on getting well.
Daniel later calls Zara as she waits to collect Joe outside school. He realises she has been there for a while and becomes concerned. Is he right to be worried?
Meanwhile, Karen overhears Al and Ayesha teasing Sid about their impending Christmas shopping trip. Once they hit the shops, she starts recommending all sort of bizarre outfits, much to Sid's horror.
Elsewhere, Valerie tries to help a vulnerable teenage girl who has reached crisis point.
