It's been eight-and-a-half years since Nigel Havers first stepped on to the Coronation Street cobbles as conman Lewis Archer, playing out two stints as the lothario. But he just can't seem to keep away, as Havers has now returned for the third instalment of the Lewis Archer saga.
Friday's (June 1) episode revealed that Lewis has teamed up with "psychic" Rosemary Piper, feeding her information about the Platts to con Gail out of her cash.
Forgotten about Lewis's troublesome ways? Then take a trip down memory lane…
1. Escort days
Lewis was first introduced as a gentleman escort in December 2009, when Audrey Roberts met him at a Christmas Ball. At the time, he was accompanying Audrey's old friend Claudia Colby (played by Rula Lenska, who will also be returning to the cobbles later this year) at the event.
Using his charm and charisma, Lewis flirted with Audrey and having taken a liking to him, she later booked his services herself.

2. Three's a crowd
A few months down the line, Rita booked Lewis's services, having seen his advertisement in a magazine. However, a love triangle formed and Audrey became jealous of the time that Rita and Lewis were spending together.
This led both Audrey and Lewis to admit how much they cared for each other, with Lewis giving up his job to begin dating her.
3. The mask falls
Having moved in together, the couple jetted off to Greece for a holiday, only to return with the intention of leaving Weatherfield to open a hotel out there. However, just like all soap storylines, a twist in the tale was about to emerge.
Turning on the charm with Deirdre Barlow to distract her, Lewis managed to swindle money from Peter Barlow's betting shop and left Audrey heartbroken when he left the cobbles in 2010 to begin a new life abroad… without her!
4. Guess who's back…BACK AGAIN?
Less than two years later, Lewis returned to the cobbles in 2012 to try and right his wrongs. He paid back Peter the money he'd stolen and tried to show Audrey how sorry he was by handing himself into the police for stealing the money.
Lewis was found guilty for his crime and given 40 hours community service. However, Lewis's persistent charm managed to turn Audrey's head once again and they reunited.
5. A test of loyalty
Having been conned by Lewis and come face to face with his past, Audrey and Gail decided to test his loyalty by asking Gloria Price to try to convince Lewis to run away with her.
In the moment, Lewis's love for Audrey shone through and he refused Gloria's advances. However, he later learned that Audrey knew of the plan and broke up with her, but sought revenge on her daughter Gail.
6. Lewis's revenge
Manipulating his way into the Platt household, Lewis once again turned on the charm to make Gail fall in love with him and the two began a secret relationship. But this was all part of a bigger plan to make Gail pay for ruining his life.
Not one to think outside the box with his schemes, Lewis told Gail he had been offered an opportunity to run a hotel in Italy, wanting her to go with him. Seemingly forgetting about the hotel debacle with Audrey, Gail agreed to the plan and took out a £40,000 loan.
In the meantime, Audrey found out about the relationship and was left devastated, driving a wedge between mother and daughter. With all the plans in place, Lewis just needed the money.
Having overheard a conversation in which Kylie Platt admitted to having a one-night stand with Nick Tilsley, he blackmailed her into getting Gail's bank-account password.
7. Au Revoir
As Gail prepared to tell her family about her future with Lewis, he sent a text message to instruct her to play a DVD he had left behind, having made his escape. The DVD played, with Lewis revealing the full extent of his manipulation and how much he did actually love Audrey. To prove his love, he had transferred Audrey the £9,000 she had previously repaid a woman who Lewis had conned in the past.
It's fair to say the Platts may not be Lewis's number-one fans, so expect fireworks when they learn the saga is set to begin a whole new chapter.
Is Lewis really back to ruin their lives once more, or will he whisk Audrey away to a hotel halfway across the world? Who knows? Only time will tell.
