Coronation Street star Nigel Havers has promised that his character Lewis Archer will return to the show in a "brilliant" plot.
The last time we saw him on our screens, he conned Gail out of £40,000 and then did a runner. He nearly did the exact same thing to her mum years ago. So does that mean he's back to con someone else?
Havers talked about his return to the Cobbles with Zoe Ball on her new ITV weekend show, and said: "Well, I was in Manchester doing the play [ART] and it just seemed to make sense to me to walk across the river, go into the studios and do a little bit of work – which I did!"
Having been photographed filming confrontational scenes with Roy Cropper and his former lover Gail Rodwell, Havers revealed that he will only be returning to the show for "a bit".
But he admitted that he couldn't turn down the opportunity due to the quality of the proposed storyline.
"You know the plot that they send you is just so brilliant that you just cannot say no," he said.
