Note: The following article contains discussion of sexual assault that some readers may find upsetting.
Tonight's (March 19) Coronation Street aired the aftermath of David Platt's rape at the hands of his 'friend' Josh, and viewers were distressed by how the latter tried to make light of such a situation.
David was horrified to see Josh in his house, talking to mum Gail, and later telling David that the pair were having a laugh and ended up having consensual sex.
Fans found it particularly disturbing how Josh is showing no remorse for his actions.
But they praised the show and actors for tackling such an important subject.
The storyline has received over 100 complaints so far, but producer Kate Oates has defended the choice to do it.
