Coronation Street's long-running drama of Bethany Platt's abuse came to an end tonight (October 4) with the trial's conclusion and guilty verdicts for both Nathan, Neil and their co-defendants.
The jury's decision followed convincing performances by both men in the witness box β Nathan (Christopher Harper) explaining how "needy" Bethany (Lucy Fallon) was and what an awful home life she had, and Neil (Ben Cartwright) describing how his life has been ruined by a teenage girl with a grudge.
But the jurors saw through both men and found them guilty, with Bethany breaking down in tears at the news.
