Coronation Street fans were up in arms tonight (September 3) as ruthless Pat Phelan showed that he wasn't completely dead inside when it came to holding Andy Carver hostage.
The hour-long episode (scheduled on a Sunday night because of football clashes) saw Phelan prepare to kill off his hostage Andy, who has been held captive in a cellar for the past eight months.
But seeing the state of Andy shook Pat in ways he could never imagine, and at the end of the episode, he had returned home with his prisoner still alive and a tear in his eye.
