Coronation Street delves deeper into Robert Preston's backstory tonight (July 5) as Michelle Connor wants answers after Chesney Brown's stabbing.
Robert (Tristan Gemmill) shocked Michelle earlier this week by confessing that his old friend Rich used to be his drug dealer, but it was clear that he was only telling her part of the story.
After Rich accidentally stabbed Chesney and did a runner from the cobbles, Robert protected his acquaintance by failing to tell the police everything he knew about the incident.
As a new day dawns on the cobbles in tonight's episode, Michelle (Kym Marsh) pushes Robert for a full explanation for his surprising loyalty towards Rich.
Robert realises it's time for absolute honesty with Michelle and finally tells her everything, so it's sure to involve the mysterious "Catherine" who was mentioned by Rich earlier this week.
