It may sound pretty 'out there' on paper, but Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd is promising that next week's dramatic David Platt storyline will stay believable.
David takes centre stage in an action-packed set of episodes next week, as he prepares to take deadly revenge on Clayton Hibbs and kill himself in the process.
The troubled character's plan is to douse a car with petrol and blow it up when Clayton arrives at court for his murder trial.
As David knows that he won't survive the blast himself, his plan is also a tragic suicide mission - but his mum Gail is desperate to prevent it and locks him in the Bistro cellar.
Speaking to Digital Spy about David being pushed so far, Jack insisted: "The story is believable. Because of everything he's gone through with Kylie, you can justify this story of him being hellbent on committing suicide and killing Clayton.
"I can believe it because of everything he's been through with Kylie dying."
