Coronation Street real-life couple Elle Mulvaney and Liam Scholes enjoy sweet date night together

Coronation Street's Elle Mulvaney and Liam Scholes went out for an Indian this week, after confirming their romance just before Christmas.

The stars, who play Amy Barlow and Eli Higginson, shared their recent date night over on Instagram Stories, with Mulvaney uploading a shot of a food-filled plate while tagging both Scholes and the restaurant itself, Néel Panéer.

Her boyfriend, who also sings in a band called The Lanks, reshared Mulvaney's post along with the words: "The best company and the best food [heart emoji]."

Previously, Mulvaney explained how the young cast "instantly" became fast friends on set.

"We did all just find that instantly we became this tight-knit group of friends. We all socialise together," she told The Sun.

Meanwhile, another real-life Corrie couple in Sally Carman and Joe Duttine tied the knot last year after originally getting together in 2018.

Plans had changed due to COVID-19 concerns, as the Abi Franklin actress revealed in 2021: "I'm obsessed with Christmas, so when Joe said, 'What's your favourite time, when would you most like to do it?', it had to be Christmas.

"We should have been getting married this December, but we put it to next year because we didn't know what the score was going to be COVID-wise.

"We thought it was better safe than sorry, because I would have hated to have arranged it and then not be able to do it properly."
