Coronation Street's Tyrone left horrified in Christmas storyline

Coronation Street has revealed the first official look at Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Stape's big Christmas Day storyline.

The couple will have the central plot in the hour-long festive special this year, as Tyrone's plans for a surprise wedding start to backfire.

Tyrone recently popped the question to Fiz, but when she complained about the inevitable stress of wedding planning, he privately vowed to set the date for December 25 and make the preparations himself.

As Christmas Day arrives, Fiz is still in the dark about Tyrone's plans.

Fiz opens her Christmas present from Tyrone and is unimpressed to find that it's just a box of chocolates and a keyring. Tyrone shares a secret grin with Hope and Ruby, aware that Fiz's real present is coming imminently.

Later, Tyrone, Hope and Ruby all come downstairs in their wedding outfits. Their plans to surprise Fiz are thwarted when they find a note, explaining that she has headed out to buy a turkey.

Tyrone tries to call Fiz's phone to get her back, but despairs when he realises that she has left it at home.

Chesney Brown and Gemma Winter both encourage Tyrone to head to the venue as planned. Bernie Winter and Dev Alahan agree to wait for Fiz's return and send her off for the wedding.

Unfortunately, Fiz's return home is delayed when she breaks down on a country road.

When Fiz realises that she has no phone, she sets off on foot to look for a phone box.

At the hotel, Tyrone finally gives up hope over Fiz making it on time for the ceremony. He tells the guests that it looks like the wedding is off.

The congregation heads off to The Rovers to enjoy the buffet, and it seems that Tyrone's surprise has ended in disaster.

Meanwhile, back on the road, Fiz stops a passing walker called Chris and explains her predicament. Will he help her and could there be an eleventh-hour miracle?
