Coronation Street's Charlotte Jordan has weighed in on Daisy's struggle to deal with the ghost of Daniel Osbourne's late wife Sinead.

Daisy has recently considered moving in with Daniel (Rob Mallard) and Bertie, who's growing attached to her and has even called her "mummy". Their domestic bliss is somewhat marred by Daisy's insecurity as she's unable to live in a house that feels like a "Sinead shrine".

"It's not a place that she wants to live in," Jordan told Digital Spy and other media.

"Rob and I often joke that the place is literally a Sinead shrine, there are about 11 pictures of Sinead, the hallway is full of all her sewing things, her stuff is literally everywhere so I don't think it's something Daisy would want to wake up to every day, it's all a bit much for her," she added.

The actress has also explained that her character feels a bit more settled and secure in the relationship and see things progressing with Daniel.

"She's definitely in love with him and she sees them building a future together, she'd just like them to have a fresh start somewhere. She doesn't want to feel like she's constantly in Sinead's shadow," she said.

Jordan conceded that forming a family with Daniel and Bertie feels like a big commitment for Daisy, but she's ultimately ready to face the challenge.

"It freaks her out a little bit but the fact it doesn't send her running for the hills I think shows us that she is prepared to take it on," the Corrie star said.

"She realises with Bertie starting to feel this way it's make or break."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
