Coronation Street star Millie Gibson shares behind-the-scenes snap following soap exit

Coronation Street star Millie Gibson has shared an adorable behind-the-scenes picture with co-star Georgia Taylor amid her exit.

The star, who is departing Weatherfield as Kelly Neelan next week after three years, posted the picture on her Instagram Stories last night (September 14), noting how her last scenes with the Toyah Battersby had concluded.

"Last scene with my love aired tonight… @realgeorgiataylor," she wrote.

Millie has also revealed which keepsake she has taken from the set after filming her last scenes in an interview with Digital Spy and other press.

"I'm going to take Kelly's black puffer coat with fur on the hood – she wears it all the time in winter," she revealed.

"Every time it's summer I miss her coat because I feel like her whenever I wear it. I'm going to take that for sure. This is a bit of a spoiler but I made sure in my last scene I was wearing that coat because I wanted to take it."

Speaking further about her decision to depart the cobbles, Millie explained that she feels free to explore other options because of her personal circumstances, so there's no time like the present to exit the soap.

"Because I'm so young, I thought: 'I've got to leave'. I have no responsibilities – I don't have kids, I don't have a mortgage to pay or anything like that, I'm still grateful to be living at home. So I thought: 'I'm just going to see what else the world has'."
