Coronation Street's Kelly caught out over secret wedding plans

Kelly Neelan is set to be caught out over her secret elopement plans with Aadi Alahan in brand new scenes on Coronation Street.

The pair are planning to marry for real in Scotland – which follows their initial fake plans in order to win a holiday to Mexico – after their guardians refused to give them permission t0 marry earlier this week – required because they are under 18.

Dev, Maria and Gary feel they're too young to tie the knot, while a negative comment about Kelly and her reputation in Weatherfield from Dev led to a violent confrontation with Aadi.

While Dev agreed to give her a chance in the end, Aadi confirmed that they plan to move in together. Meanwhile Kelly had been developing secret plans for the couple to run off to Gretna Green for a wedding – the law is different in Scotland, and they won't require parental consent to get married there.

In follow-on scenes, the families are still under the belief that the couple have put an end to their plan.

As Liam and Jake fight over the Xbox, Kelly suggests they should watch videos on her laptop instead – though they notice that she has been researching Gretna Green on the machine, leading Kelly to abruptly change the subject.

Maria gets wind of what Kelly is planning, and decides that they need to stop the elopement. Yet Gary notes that if they try and prevent it, they may end up driving her away for good.
