Coronation Street's Yasmeen makes a big new decision over Stu

Coronation Street's Yasmeen Metcalfe pledges her support to Stu Carpenter next week after new evidence comes to light over his past.

Yasmeen recently turned against Stu after discovering that he spent years in prison for murder. Stu confirmed that he once confessed to killing a woman, but now denies being the culprit.

In next week's episodes, Yasmeen's grandchildren Zeedan and Alya look through Stu's old case files with help from solicitor Adam Barlow.

Adam points out that Stu was questioned by the police for over 10 hours, which is against the rules. Curiously, there's also one tape missing.

Alya visits Stu in prison to let him know how the search for clues is going. However, they're interrupted by the arrival of Yasmeen, who's finally willing to hear him out.

Stu tells Yasmeen the whole story from his perspective. Yasmeen then reports back to Zeedan and Alya that Stu wants them to talk to his solicitor. Stu's solicitor Norman ultimately confirms that he was coerced into making a confession by a corrupt police detective.

With Stu due to be released from prison again imminently after his punishment for breach of the peace, Alya encourages Yasmeen to invite him back home. She argues that it's clear Stu is innocent in the murder case and he has nowhere else to go.

Later in the week, Stu is released and is stunned when he finds Yasmeen waiting for him at the prison gates.
