Phill Whittaker has threatened to go to war with Fiz Stape in the divorce court in Coronation Street.
After weeks of his attempts to win her back, Fiz had seemingly finally got Phill to agree to an annulment since he had no idea she'd got back with Tyrone on their wedding night.
However, the truth was finally exposed, albeit inadvertently, due to a mix-up with a therapist all three were seeing in Friday's (July 22) double bill.

The mix-up saw Phill accidentally leave his phone with the therapist, then turn up just as Tyrone and Fiz were confessing the various lies they'd been telling to get the marriage annulled quickly.

Armed with this new knowledge, Phill attempted to be gracious at first when he showed up to sign the papers at the pub, but he wasn't satisfied signing with any old pen.
"There's hardly suitable for such a historic document, your declaration of independence," Phill quipped. "That's what you want, isn't it? To be free of me."
When Fiz muddled her answer, Phill warned her: "Whether you are or whether you wouldn't, you're not getting it either way! If you knew your history, you'd know that the original Declaration of Independence started a war, and so goes for this!"

Phill then ripped up the annulment papers, revealing he knew Fiz was with Tyrone on the night of their wedding.
"All you are to me is a name in my divorce papers," he told Tyrone. "The bloke she committed adultery with."
Phill told them they'd start the divorce proceedings in "12 long months". Are Tyrone and Fiz prepared to go to war?
