Coronation Street confirms new characters for Stu Carpenter story

Coronation Street will be introducing Stu Carpenter's family members in upcoming scenes.

The ITV soap has recently started to explore Stu's past – including his sadness that he's no longer in contact with his daughter.

Bill Fellows, who plays Stu, has now been spotted filming on location for the next stage of the storyline.

Paparazzi photos caught the moment that Stu manages to track down his daughter and gets another surprise in the process.

Stu, who hasn't seen his daughter Bridget for 15 years, is optimistic when he turns up at her house.

A young girl answers the door and Stu finds out that he has a granddaughter, but his happiness is short-lived when Bridget appears and slams the door in his face.

Later, Stu hopes things are turning around when he manages to reconnect with Bridget, but then his ex-wife Lucy turns up and orders him to go.

It's currently unclear whether the new characters will be appearing as guests or whether any of them will become regular fixtures in Stu's life.

Bill recently told Digital Spy that Corrie viewers will learn more about his character's backstory as this plot continues.

Speaking to us on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards, Bill explained: "I don't think I can say too much, but there's a big storyline about Stu's past and why he was homeless when we first met him.

"It's about why he was in that position and it's a massive thing from his past that comes into play.

"I don't think I can say much more than that!"

Meanwhile, other recent Coronation Street paparazzi pictures have teased a possible new romance storyline for Aadi Alahan and Kelly Neelan.
