Coronation Street star Shayne Ward's fiancée gives birth

Coronation Street's Shayne Ward has become a father for the second time.

The singer-turned-actor announced that his fiancée Sophie Austin was expecting all the way back in January, and today (June 16), Ward shared the inevitable news over on Instagram with a pair of cute pictures.

"And then there were Four!" his caption began. "11/06/22 we had a HUGE surprise! Not a baby girl we were expecting but a beautiful baby Boy. We are so overjoyed and blessed that sir baby Ward has arrived [blue heart emoji]."

Reacting to the birth, the cast of Corrie were on hand to share their congratulations.

Shona Platt actress Julia Goulding, who happens to be pregnant with her own little one, wrote: "Wow!! Congratulations, how wonderful, sending so much love to you all xxx".

Previously, Ward and Austin opened up about their "whirlwind" journey to getting pregnant again, following an unsuccessful round of IVF treatment.

"We never gave up. It's been a whirlwind. And 16 years after I appeared on The X Factor, I have a beautiful family and one on the way. I am on cloud nine. It's amazing that we're going to have another girl to add to the Ward clan," he told Hello! magazine.

The Hollyoaks actress chipped in with: "It was one of the most emotionally draining things we have ever been through. And for Shayne, it was quite a hard process because he wasn't physically going through it but it was just as tough for him."
