Corrie flashback reveals what happened in Imran's fatal crash

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Toyah Battersby began to recall the events of the fatal car crash which resulted in the death of her husband Imran in tonight's episode (June 3).

The episode opened with Toyah being questioned in the hospital about what happened moments before her car hit the scaffolding.

Meanwhile, Abi was in shock over the whole situation, worrying she'll be unfit to look after Alfie alone. Kevin consoled her, reminding Abi that she'd been set up by Imran in the custody trial.

Back home from hospital, Toyah broke down in tears in confusion, struggling to come to terms with the past few days.

She then retreived a voicemail from Imran, leading to a flashback from the day of the accident. She chose to drive as Imran had been drinking that day. Once in the car, the couple argued and Toyah accused Imran of having an affair with Abi due to his sudden sympathy for her.

Imran, who had been having regrets over winning custody of Alfie, told Toyah he believed Abi's plan to flee with Alfie was a result of them pushing her to desperation. Imran then revealed to Toyah that he had lied to the court about Abi using drugs, setting her up to lose custody.

As Imran continued to explain what happened, Toyah struggled to concentrate, overwhelmed by the shocking news.

"I thought I was doing what was best for us," Imran pleaded.

A furious Toyah then told Imran that they're finished as parents, fearing that coming clean will lead to her losing Elsie.

However, Imran then told her that he'd already set up a meeting with social services to confess everything. "I hate you, Imran," Toyah responded, before the scene abruptly cut to the car crashing and the aftermath of the accident.

Back in the present, Toyah struggled to look after Alfie and apologised to him before deleting the voicemail from Imran.
