Coronation Street star Kimberly Hart-Simpson is over the moon to still be part of the Weatherfield residents.
Her character Nicky Wheatley first appeared two years ago in a rather NSFW capacity following the death of Sinead Osbourne – striking a close bond with widower Daniel Osbourne as a sex worker.
In the time since, the world went through a pandemic, which put the brakes on Nicky's storyline, but thankfully her 2022 return has been a dramatic triumph as she's become a thorn in Daisy Midgeley's side.
"You were on Corrie, and then, of course, everything shuts up shop, and it looked as if it wasn't going to happen," Loose Women panellist Kaye Adams said to the actress this week.
"Can you imagine getting your dream job and then..." Hart-Simpson replied, before reflecting on how many faces in the acting industry went through something similar.

"I couldn't compartmentalise it at the time. I got through it, we all did, you know. And I was so fortunate that they continued that storyline, how lucky I was.
"You think that 'last in first out' vibes. But no, they had my back and I am forever grateful to the show for that."

Did you know that Kimberly auditioned for a completely different Corrie character over a decade ago?
"My first-ever audition for Coronation Street was probably about 10 years ago, when I'd just finished drama school. I completely over-acted!" she conceded back in 2020.
"I was so hammy because I couldn't understand the difference between doing theatre and TV."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
