Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley welcomes baby girl

Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has welcomed her second child with husband Tom Pitfield. Congratulations, both!

Catherine, who played Eva Price on the ITV soap, shared the happy news with fans on Instagram earlier today (April 20).

In a joint post, Catherine and Tom posted an adorable black-and-white photo of their baby girl's feet, prompting scores of well wishes from the Corrie favourite's former co-stars and her Strictly Come Dancing partner Johannes Radebe.

The couple, who tied the knot back in 2016, welcomed their first child, Alfie, in 2015.

Catherine, who recently unveiled a new look as she prepared for her "role" as a mum of two, revealed that she didn't initially believe she was pregnant when she first took a test.

"I took so many tests, as I was convinced I [wasn't] actually pregnant but in fact my body was just mimicking a pregnancy," she said, following the couple's pregnancy announcement.

"So this time, even when my stomach was a bit swollen, I just thought, 'Oh hormonal imbalances again'."

She added: "I was having terrible insomnia, which is still with me. I was so hot at night and unable to control my temperature. I started to panic that perhaps I was perimenopausal. I know I would have been a bit young, but it does happen."
