Amy Barlow and Jacob Hay's relationship is set to face a big new backlash after they once again reveal themselves to be together on Coronation Street.

Fans will know that Steve McDonald and Tracy learnt about the relationship a few weeks back, though they subsequently broke up after the family were less than pleased about her dating Jacob, especially given his history with them.

However, they've since got back together – albeit in secret given the circumstances.

In scenes set to air next week, Amy is left gutted that she'll have to cancel a night with her secret boyfriend when Tracy reveals her plans for some mother and daughter time.

She assures Jacob that she will try to get past her parents later on so they can meet, though when Amy makes an excuse to Steve that she is going to Emma Brooker's, he tells her that he saw Emma heading to the tram station.

Amy then rushes to the ginnel, telling Jacob that they can't meet as her dad is home, leaving him frustrated.

Amy plans lunch with her parents at the bistro later in the week, though they are shocked when their daughter walks in with Jacob, and while Tracy threatens to walk out, Steve notes that Amy is 18, so can make her own decisions.

Leanne spots them with Jacob and is horrified given that he almost destroyed her family, while Amy and Jacob admit they are in love when they meal is over.

Things escalate later when Steve and Tracy see Jacob punching Simon outside, warning Amy that she will now have to choose between him or her family.
