Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street's Lydia Chambers has escalated her plans to destroy Adam’s life.
Lydia’s (Rebecca Ryan) scheme all came to a head in Friday’s (February 25) hour-long episode as she has tried to convince Sarah (Tina O’Brien) that she is having an affair with her husband Adam (Sam Robertson).
Adam is the source of Lydia’s obsession as she's been stalking him and has set out to split up his marriage.
She sowed the seed of doubt when Sarah answered the phone to a hotel, who had informed her that they found a gold, ladies watch after Adam's last visit.

Though Adam denied he had company, Sarah didn't believe him and began to suspect he’s having an affair.
When she arrived at work, Sarah confided in Lydia about the phone call and tried to convince herself to trust Adam by admitting that "hotels make mistakes all the time".
Yet, Lydia left a crucial hint for Sarah to continue her own investigation as she told her to "stop torturing yourself and don’t go snooping through receipts".
So, what did Sarah do? Check through his receipts and discover a payment to an expensive lingerie shop in London.

After an emotional phone call with the hotel, Sarah also found out that Adam spent £180 on a bottle of house champagne and oysters.
A shocked Sarah anxiously said "he doesn’t even like oysters", before calling Lydia over to confront her as she boasted about having "oysters with your married man, washed down with champagne".
Lydia pretended that she and Adam really were having an affair and told Sarah: "We really never meant for you to get hurt."
As she broke down into tears, Sarah believed every word that Lydia told her and made out they just "couldn’t help themselves" and that with Adam, "whatever he wants, he gets".

Lydia then told her it was a "relief" to finally come clean, before Adam interrupted the tense conversation.
Adam denied having an affair, while Lydia insisted that they are. Sarah then explained that she’d seen the "evidence" in "black and white", before handing him the receipts.
Adam realised it was all Lydia's "handiwork" and accused her of being "unhinged" and setting him up. As Sarah kicked out Lydia, Adam stayed to try and convince her of the truth.
Sarah broke down in tears as Adam told her she’s crazy if she chooses to believe Lydia over him, as Lydia has clearly been "determined to tear [them] apart".
Adam realised the amount of planning that went into Lydia’s elaborate scheme to make the affair seem realistic, and the apparent evidence was so incriminating to Sarah thats he kicked him out.
On the street, Adam confronted Lydia and he tells her it was all "payback" for messing up her life, declaring that she will "dismantle" his life and there's "nothing [he] can do about it".
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm on ITV.
