Coronation Street's Amy Barlow to dump Jacob after dramatic week

Coronation Street's Amy Barlow is set to dump boyfriend Jacob Hay already, following their seven-day whirlwind romance.

Earlier this week, Amy (Elle Mulvaney) let slip to best pals Summer Spellman and Asha Alahan that she'd recently started seeing a mystery guy, and that things were going great between them.

Despite her best efforts to keep his identity a secret from prying mother Tracy (Kate Ford) and father Steve (Simon Gregson), her family will learn that her new beau is Jacob – the youngster who used to sell drugs for Harvey Gaskell – next week when she collapses during a night out.

Having already learned that she'd had her drink spiked, Amy is forced to deal with the consequences of her relationship with Jacob being exposed in scenes scheduled to air on February 16.

In the cafe, Simon (Alex Bain) confesses to Amy that he's responsible for Jacob's arrest, which causes her to confront the reality of dating a guy like Jacob.

The episode ends with Amy meeting Jacob in the back garden of her home, and telling him that she has no choice but to end their relationship.
