Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street fans saw Kelly Neelan and Aadi Alahan strike up an unlikely friendship in recent episodes of the soap.

Aadi is currently experiencing some tension with his family, acting up after his father Dev decided to save his sister Asha from a burning car before him.

In last night's episode (November 10), Aadi admitted to keying his dad's car before storming out of the house. He then went to his girlfriend Summer asking to spend the night there, but she was absolutely appalled when she learnt what Aadi had done and broke things off between them (in no small part also because she is developing feelings for Daniel Osbourne).

But fortunately for Aadi, the newly-released Kelly was ready to offer him a place to stay at her new home in supported living accommodation, where she has been living since Imran and Toyah could not have her living with them.

While he is at Kelly's, Aadi witnesses her latest drama with her friend Cole who appears and threatens her. Aadi is now finding himself in the middle of this row which will prove how he feels about their new friendship.

Speaking of this developing dynamic, Kelly actress Millie Gibson has opened up saying: "I do really love their friendship, they're like two lost souls but also very different in their upbringing and morals."

Addressing whether their friendship could blossom into something more now that Aadi is single she confessed: "I do think he's quite well suited to Summer because they're both on the same wavelength. Aadi is possibly a bit out of his depth with Kelly, she's complicated, but I do love their friendship and how he's there for her."

As for her own character, Gibson admitted that Kelly might not show how damaged she is on the outside, "but inside I think [what she has been through] has really changed her."

"I think she's got a form of PTSD since the attack which triggers when she gets certain reminders," added the soap star. "She's definitely going to have the scars for a long time."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm on ITV.
