Coronation Street will explore Daisy Midgeley's past next week, as an incident with Daniel Osbourne brings back painful memories.
Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) may be dating Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) but she hasn't let that stop her from taking an interest in Daniel (Rob Mallard), having decided to flirt with him this week after finding out that his mum has given him a house.
Next week Daisy will step up her efforts to impress Daniel, chatting to him when he calls into the Rovers and claiming that she is a lifelong fan of famed poet Byron. But she is left humiliated when Ryan asks her in front of Daniel why she has been looking up Byron quotes on her iPad.

Daisy later collars Daniel again and, in an attempt to justify her faux pas with the Byron quotes, makes out to Daniel that she has always dreamed of being an English teacher. Daniel then kindly decides to drop off some teaching books for Daisy to look at, leaving them with Ryan in the Rovers.

Ryan wonders why Daisy has never even mentioned her teaching ambitions to him but has confided in Daniel. However, when he asks Daisy about the situation, she accuses Ryan of being jealous and storms out.
Later on, Adam (Sam Robertson) and Sarah Barlow (Tina O'Brien) are babysitting Daniel's young son Bertie and Adam changes a battery in a toy for him. But when Daniel arrives to collect Bertie, Sarah notices that the old battery has vanished and terrified Daniel fears that Bertie has swallowed it.

Daniel quickly scoops his son up to take him to the hospital to be checked out and, in the street, a passing Daisy offers to administer first aid to Bertie. However, Daniel simply barks at her to get out of the way and rushes off.
After returning to the Street, Daniel informs Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) that Bertie is fine and his health scare was just a false alarm.
Jenny mentions to Daniel that the death of her own son Tom several years ago hit Daisy hard, and Daniel decides to apologise to Daisy for being rude and insensitive earlier when she offered her help.

Daisy confides in Daniel about how Bertie's scare brought back painful memories for her of her brother Tom's death, revealing that she took a first aid course after he drowned in a paddling pool.
Meanwhile, Ryan is also keen to talk to Daisy about their misunderstanding. But has Daisy fully turned her attentions to Daniel now after opening up to him?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, August 16 and Wednesday, August 18 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
