Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine has shared details about the fire in Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Alina's (Ruxandra Porojnicu) flat – and hinted at a shock decision from Fiz.
Jennie's character Fiz doesn't seem to suspect her daughter Hope (Isabella Flanagan) was involved despite having a history of playing with fire.

"I think to be honest she has taken her eye off the ball a bit where Hope is concerned," Jennie explained. "She has really been putting herself first for once and as a consequence she hasn't really noticed how Hope has been feeling."

Previously, Fiz had to send Hope to bed, after she declared she wants nothing to do with Alina's baby and hopes it's never born.
But Jennie said Fiz isn't fazed, adding: "Fiz is probably amused by Hope's dislike of Alina and not reading anything sinister into it. It is in some ways Hope and Fiz against Tyrone sometimes which is not ideal."
During the fire, Fiz believes Hope is still at home in bed and insists that she "can't be involved" as a result – and Jennie revealed this has little to do with her supporting Hope.
"The only reason she thinks Hope hasn't done it is because she was at home – she isn't saying, 'my daughter would not do that'!" she explained.
However, after a private conversation with Tyrone in the aftermath, Fiz has her suspicions about Hope, and "both know she is capable of it".

The whole family has shown concern about Hope's behaviour since she set the Underworld factory ablaze – and with Alina's suspicions becoming directed at Fiz, Jennie believes that Fiz may make the ultimate sacrifice for her daughter.
"I do think she is capable of that," Jennie revealed. "She may feel she has failed her daughter in some way and if she can stop her life from being ruined completely she might think this is the way to do it and take the rap."
