Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street's Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) makes a big error next week when he humiliates his partner Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) in front of the Bishop, at the moment when Billy most needs to impress him.
Billy is nervous and excited as he tells Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) that the Bishop will be coming round to visit him to let him know whether he has secured the role of archdeacon, which he recently applied for.
Meanwhile, Paul is stewing after discovering that recently returned Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) – who happens to be Billy's ex – has landed a job at Underworld. Noticing the tension, Sarah Barlow (Tina O'Brien) insists on taking the factory staff out for a curry in a bid to boost team spirit.

Meeting at Speed Daal, Sarah, Todd, Paul, Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment) and Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) get ready for a team-building evening. The staff are divided into teams to take part in a quiz that Kirk has written but Paul is more interested in knocking back the wine, focusing on his growing dislike for Todd.
What to Read Next
Over at the flat, Billy is spending the evening with the Bishop, who offers delighted Billy the archdeacon position. But the night takes a turn for the worse when drunken Paul turns up, cracking lewd jokes, offering the Bishop a beer and making a fool of himself.
The Bishop can't get away fast enough and the next day, a hungover and remorseful Paul scours the job pages while Billy implores him not to let Todd bother him.
Billy later receives a phone call from the Bishop and tells Paul with relief that despite the drunken antics he witnessed, he still wants to offer Billy the archdeacon job.
