Coronation Street's Jenny Connor has a new family member arriving on the cobbles soon and actress Sally Ann Matthews, who plays her, has now teased further details about Jenny's mysterious relative.
Sally Ann revealed during a recent interview that Jenny is set to be joined on the Street by a family member who "the audience knows nothing about" and the actress has now confirmed that Jenny will be very pleased to see the new addition.
"She's thrilled with this arrival. It's what she needed at this point," Sally Ann told Digital Spy and other media, adding that Jenny "needs something of her own" after spending so much time being embroiled in the affairs of her husband Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley)'s family.

"Her life for the past few years has been everything to do with the Connors," Sally Ann explained. "She has had to put up with a lot – take on his kids, and Aidan (Shayne Ward)'s suicide, Carla (Alison King)'s traumas, and then we have Carla and Peter (Chris Gascoyne) living with us in the Rovers, so she has embraced the whole Connor clan.
"So to have somebody that's from her past is really exciting, and she's desperate to embrace that and cling onto it. Oh god, yeah, it's going to be sparky, put it that way."
