Coronation Street star Rob Mallard has revealed why his co-star Katie McGlynn didn't really like him when they first met.
Rob was speaking exclusively on Digital Spy's brand new Soap Scoop podcast, where he opens up about his role in last year’s BAFTA-nominated cervical cancer storyline, the real-world impact of soaps, and what the future holds for his character Daniel Osbourne.
Although he and Katie, who played his on-screen wife Sinead Tinker, are best of friends these days, Rob explained that it wasn't always the case.

"I don’t feel bad about saying this now because I take the mick out of her for it all the time," he said. "But she didn’t warm to me, shall we put it that way, when I first joined.
"I think I was too over familiar with her, but once we did click, once she realised that I wasn’t an absolute tool, we got that click moment and we’ve been mates like that ever since."
In fact, the pair are such good pals these days that Rob even recently joined Katie for her birthday celebrations, where he had a somewhat unfortunate accident.
"We'd gone up to this log cabin and there was a hot tub that was kept warm by a log burner," he explained.
"My job was to keep an eye on the log burner and I slipped on a little bit of wet grass – the logs went one way, and I went the other. I came down 'smack!' on the ground." Ouch!
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30 and 8.30pm on ITV. The podcast is available to download now on all major platforms, including Spotify and Apple Podcasts, with new episodes dropping every Friday at 8am.
