Coronation Street's Leanne Battersby feels guilty next week after struggling to tell the truth about her young son Oliver.
Leanne (Jane Danson) is struggling to cope after receiving the news that Oliver has mitochondrial disease, a life-limiting condition.

Once Mandy has left, Leanne is overwhelmed with grief as the reality of her situation comes flooding back.
Later, Leanne confides in Toyah (Georgia Taylor) about how she feels ashamed of herself for lying about Oliver.

Coronation Street is currently telling the ongoing story without on-screen appearances from Oliver. Jeremiah and Emmanuel Cheetham, who play Oliver, and Corrie's other child actors are not permitted to film at the moment due to COVID-19 restrictions on set.
Show boss Iain MacLeod recently explained: "The story was more about family loyalties being tested and marriages breaking down. The bulk of the scenes were with the grown-ups anyway. We also have a vault of shots of the children who play Oliver, so we can cut to stock footage.
"We have all bases covered in that regard. If that landscape shifts, it's not inconceivable to have them back. For now, it's better for the safety of the actors to keep them off set. It won't radically change the story."
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
