Coronation Street star Rula Lenska has suggested that the soap's younger actors don't take too kindly to advice.

Rula, who played Claudia Colby on and off since 2009, admitted that the younger cast members have a "completely different attitude" to when she first started out.

Speaking to Mark Curry about the "vibe" between older and younger actors on the Corrie set, Rula revealed that not everyone was "terribly good" at taking advice from others during filming.

"Without meaning to sound up one's own rear end, I remember as a young actor, being completely grateful for any sort of comment made to me by an older, more experienced actor," she explained.

"Whether it was, 'Yes, that was great' or 'Try this' or 'Do a bit more of this, or do a bit less of this', whatever. Anybody that took any notice of me I just eat up with delight."

Rula added that she "loved" her time on the ITV soap, and "made an effort to make good friends" with all of her co-stars, but was surprised to see how the relationships between the more experienced actors and the younger, up-and-coming stars had changed.

"They have a completely different attitude. They are not terribly good at taking advice or helpful suggestions," she said. "One just swallows it and that's how time has progressed. That's how things have changed."

There's no bad blood, mind you. Keen to praise her Corrie colleagues, Rula insisted: "But most of the young ones are incredibly good."

Rula's recent two-year stint as glamorous hairdresser Claudia came to an end earlier this year, when Ken Barlow revealed that he wanted to leave the Still Waters retirement complex and return to Coronation Street for a humble "half-pint in the Rovers".

Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
