Coronation Street's Daniel Osbourne will make an emotional confession as he spends more time with newcomer Nicky.

Viewers know that Daniel (Rob Mallard) is still struggling with his grief after Sinead passed away in October last year.

Last night's episode marked a turning point in Daniel's ordeal, as he realised just how lonely his life had become since Sinead's death.

On the back of this, Daniel will head out to enjoy himself later in this week, where he finds himself getting to know a glamorous woman called Nicky.

Spoilers for next week confirm that Daniel does take Nicky up on her offer to make a night of it, but he is left questioning his decision in the aftermath.

However, Adam is later concerned to hear that Daniel was buying strong lager in the corner shop, suggesting that he may be on a downward spiral again.

While Adam ponders what to do, Daniel has contacted Nicky again and is on his way to a hotel to meet her.

Clearly on edge, Daniel tells Nicky that it was a mistake and that he shouldn't have called her after all.

Overcome with emotion, Daniel opens up to Nicky and talks about how much he misses Sinead and how lonely his life has become since she died. What does the future hold for Daniel? And will Nicky support him?

Last week, it was announced that Sinead's death scene has been nominated for a BAFTA TV Award.

The emotional scene is up for Virgin's Must-See Moment at the ceremony and the winner will be decided by the public.

Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
