Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's James Bailey is set to share his sexuality with his football team-mates in forthcoming scenes.

Having recently been accosted by a homophonic football fan and bolstered by his dad Ed standing up to racist Bistro employee Don, James returns to football training hoping to be honest with everyone about his sexuality.

After a team-mate makes a derogatory remark about James being gay, James makes a joke of it and the other players laugh in support.

Indeed, it seems his secret is finally out and James is delighted to see that most of the team are supportive.

James's fears of coming out to his team-mates are further eased later in the week, when Tommy Orpington assures him he did the right thing and the players are fully behind him.

However, James worries that the manager might not see it that way.

Speaking about James's coming out journey earlier in the year, actor Nathan Graham told Digital Spy: "I don't know what's to come myself, but I would imagine it's going to be a long journey.

"James has got to tell his team-mates eventually and then he might come out publicly. That would be another hurdle for him to face.

"But I think if we're exploring the issue, there'll be a lot to come."

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, May 25 and Wednesday, May 27 at 7.30pm on ITV.
