Coronation Street spoilers follow from Friday night's episode (May 1).
Tonight Coronation Street aired a special episode focusing on the ongoing coercive control storyline involving Yasmeen Metcalfe and her husband Geoff.
For months viewers have witnessed Geoff abusing Yasmeen with his coercive behaviour but tonight things came to a head, with the episode following the couple through the course of a day.
In the episode Yasmeen continued to be terrorised by Geoff following his recent discovery of her secret plans to leave him.
When she got out of bed he shouted at her for waking up too late and then made her eat a fried breakfast that had been sitting out for hours and was now cold.
He then accused her of fancying Peter Barlow and planning to run off with him.

Later in the day an oblivious Sally invited the couple to the reopening of the Bistro, convincing Geoff to come with Yasmeen even though she said he was unwell.
But before they left for the party, Geoff forced Yasmeen to wear a revealing red dress which was too big for her.
Later, during pre-drinks at the pub, Yasmeen was shocked to discover that Geoff had used her money to pay for Sally and Tim's wedding.
Once back at home that night, Geoff berated Yasmeen and cruelly revealed that he actually bought her red dress for one of his escorts.
As Yasmeen struggled to get the dress off, Geoff knocked her to the floor and began throwing food while berating her.
He then backed her into a corner while wielding a knife, saying he should kill her. Terrified, Yasmeen grabbed a wine bottle and swung it at Geoff, slicing him across the neck.
The episode ended with Geoff falling to the floor, leaving viewers unsure if he was alive or dead.
Viewers on Twitter were full of praise for the heartbreaking and tense episode, while congratulating actors Shelley King and Ian Bartholomew on their performance.
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
Organisations including Women's Aid can provide further support and information on coercive control or coercive behaviour.
