Coronation Street has revealed that Yasmeen Metcalfe will be diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection next week.
Yasmeen receives the news from Dr Gaddas at the medical centre, just days before her fateful showdown with husband Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) at home.

When Yasmeen reacts in a moment of terror with Geoff at home, she grabs a wine bottle and hits him, slashing his neck with the broken glass.

A weakened Geoff falls to the floor and Yasmeen calls for an ambulance, telling the operator that she thinks she has killed her husband.
Shelley King, who plays Yasmeen, recently explained: "He has a bottle of wine on the table and food, he doesn't offer her anything. All she wants is to eat something and hug him. She wants him to forgive her. She is not thinking coherently, she hasn't eaten for two and a half days properly.
"What she does is react like a wounded cornered animal. She just wants it all to stop. She defends herself – she doesn't attack him – but it is him who ends up bleeding on the kitchen floor."
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
