Real-life Coronation Street couple Sally Carman and Joe Duttine have some truly happy news to celebrate even in this time of crisis.
Duttine – who has played Tim Metcalfe on the ITV soap for seven years – announced on Friday night (March 27) that he'd popped the question… and the Abi Franklin actress had "said yes, everyone".
"Convid 19 can f**k off (sic)," Duttine added in his tweet.
Retweeting her fiancé's announcement that she'd accepted his proposal, Carman added with a yellow heart emoji: "I did."
The couple were showered with supportive messages from fellow soap star Zoe Henry (Emmerdale) as well as Coronation Street castmate Jane Danson (aka Leanne Battersby).
"Congratulations," Danson tweeted. "So happy for you both."

Carman and Duttine were first romantically linked back in August 2018, and ultimately shared the experience of moving in together with their fans on social media last November.
The couple also recently revealed the very unusual way that they started 2020 – with "a near naked swim in the North Sea"!
"Start as you mean to go on #happynewdecade," Carman cheekily wrote on Instagram while sharing a photo of their (surely) very cold New Year swim.
While Sally Carman's love life is heating up off screen, she recently admitted that she hasn't had high hopes for her character Abi and Kevin Webster on the cobbles.
"They are so different, so there are excellent opportunities to create drama from that. But I'm not sure they can have a happily ever after," she confessed.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
