Kym Marsh has responded to those who took issue with her choice of grandmother name.
The Coronation Street favourite became a grandparent for the first time last year following the birth of her daughter Emilie's son Teddy, but instead of the traditional 'grandma', 'nan' or 'nanna', she's opted to be called 'Loli'.

Uploading a cute picture of Teddy onto Instagram while babysitting recently, it didn't take long for the Michelle Connor actress to receive a few questioning comments from some on the social media platform.
One follower wrote: "I was only 43 when I became a nanny , I choose nanny as grandma or granny seemed a bit old , but I don't get loli ???" alongside a confused emoji.
Addressing the criticism, Kym posted in the comments section: "I LOVE how many people on here have an issue with my choice of name as a grandparent!?! Surely all that matters is that he is happy and loved why does it matter what he calls me?
"I know lots of people with alternative names! So what! Loli is my choice and I shall live and protect him til the day I die no matter what (sic)."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
