Tracy Barlow and Steve McDonald's rocky relationship in Coronation Street will be tested once again by a cheating confession.
The pair have been known for their tendencies to stray in the past, with Tracy (Kate Ford) now set to have a night of passion with someone else on New Year's Day. There have been suspicions Tracy might cheat on Steve with Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher).
While it isn't confirmed yet who Tracy will ring in the New Year with, the truth comes out the following week after an unlikely series of events unfold.
Trouble begins when Steve upsets Leanne (Jane Danson) by refusing to take Ollie to a birthday party because he already promised to have Tracy's cat chipped.
Leanne ends up with some ammunition when she soon overhears Tracy begging her one-night-stand to keep their fling secret for the sake of her marriage.
Tracy is the middle of trying to explain that her indiscretion was a one-time mistake that must stay between them, when Amy (Elle Mulvaney) finds her mum groveling in front of Leanne and storms out.

As the week continues, Sally's (Sally Dynevor) hot tub party gets extremely awkward as Leanne relishes in grilling Tracy about her New Year's Eve right in front of a suspicious Steve.
The tension between Tracy and Leanne grows so palpable that Steve ultimately demands to know the truth — and Tracy confesses she slept with someone else.
The couple's row intensifies when Steve finds out who Tracy slept with, though she insists it was a moment of weakness after feeling neglected for weeks.
Even though Steve later admits to Emma (Alexandra Mardell) that he still loves Tracy, he isn't sure he will be able to forgive. Another marriage will be in trouble on the cobbles come the New Year!
Coronation Street will air these scenes on Wednesday, January 8 and Friday, January 10 on ITV.
