Coronation Street's cancer storyline with Sinead Tinker and Daniel Osbourne was hard to watch at times, but it was a well-done plot with some fantastic performances at the heart of it.
And last night (November 23), the tragic narrative was recognised at the 2019 RTS (Royal Television Society) North West Awards.
The storyline itself won the award for Best Continuing Drama Storyline, while Daniel actor Rob Mallard bagged Best Performance in a Continuing Drama.
He attended the ceremony with Sinead actress Katie Louise McGlynn, and they accepted the initial award together.
On her Instagram Stories, McGlynn shared messages of congratulations from fans, while Mallard tweeted that he was "humbled" by the accolade.
Although Sinead tragically passed away recently, Mallard said earlier this month that Daniel will continue to grieve for quite some time.

"I always see [the story] as being in split into two, the first part was leading up to the death, and the other is about being a widower at a young age, and not knowing how to navigate that," he said.
"Sinead's death was a peak, but this story won't be winding down anytime soon."
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
