What to Read Next

Casualty has faced more last-minute schedule shake-ups over the past few weeks, when it was forced to delay an episode in the days before transmission.

This Saturday's 80-minute edition, titled 'Wednesday's Child', was originally meant to air on June 11, but was pulled following the devastating shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, where 21 people, including 19 children, were killed and 18 further people were injured.

The episode was placed under review following the news from Texas, and the BBC told Digital Spy at that time: "In light of recent tragic news events, we are reviewing the episode of Casualty due to transmit on 11th June on BBC One."

'Wednesday's Child' is now airing tomorrow night (June 18) instead.

Another episode named 'By Any Means’, which focused on Paige and Rash, aired last weekend instead – but means that the show's linear timeline is now slightly out of sync.

Next week's double episodes will focus on the aftermath of tomorrow night's shocking developments, which will reverberate across the ED over the coming weeks.

Casualty continues tomorrow night (June 18) at 9.10pm on BBC One. All episodes stream afterwards on BBC iPlayer.
