Casualty newcomer Jack Nolan has hinted at a long-running feud between his character Will Noble and colleague Archie Hudson.
Jack has been cast in the role of paediatric registrar Will, who is joining hot on the heels of Archie's own debut at the ED.
Fans were introduced to Archie, played by Genesis Lynea, in last week's episode, but she's about to face another problem in the form of Will, who she takes an instant disliking to.
Charming locum doctor Will gets on the wrong side of Archie within seconds of arriving at the hospital in this Saturday's scenes – and later applies for a full-time role just to prove a point to her.
Speaking to Digital Spy about Will and Archie's rivalry, Jack said: "They don't get off to a fantastic start and it lays the foundations of quite a rocky relationship moving forwards.
"It’s one of those interesting situations where you couldn’t call them friends, but they aren’t exactly enemies. Saturday’s episode starts them off on a path that they can’t really turn back from.

"They are just total opposites. It’s one of those relationships in life where you find the other person so infuriating but they can also be quite compelling. It’s not quite love/hate but it’s definitely a like vs dislike type of thing.
"They drive each other mad. Archie is very professional and quite cool, whereas Will is quite warm and had a natural affability which she doesn’t appreciate."
Teasing what else fans can expect from Will, Jack added: "Will has been living a life where he'd just pop up in a hospital and then move on to the next job. This has allowed him to almost avoid growing up and put off real life for as long as possible.
"He feels like this offers him more freedom, but I think he is getting to the point where he knows he needs to put down roots.
"When he starts at Holby, he doesn't have any intentions of necessarily stopping that but he gets to know his colleagues, the place, and patients, and I think he grows to like it. He can be quite charming and is able to win people over. Things come quite easily to him."
Casualty airs Will's first scenes on Saturday, March 30 on BBC One.
