Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has made an emotional return to the Brookside set.
The star, who is well known for playing Cassie Plummer on the ITV soap these days, famously portrayed Lindsey Corkhill on Brookside on-and-off between 1991 and 2003.
Taking to her Instagram page, Claire revealed that she was travelling when she decided to stop by the Channel 4 soap's former set, posting a number of photos and videos.

"Was heading to West Derby today and decided to take a trip down memory lane," she explained in the comments. Went to Brookside Close where residents live now. Felt quite emotional. Spent 6 very happy years there playing Lindsey Corkhill. Loved Brooksie."
In a clip, Claire further recalled that it "must be about seven years of my life I spent driving down here".

"This is so nostalgic this trip," she admitted, before opening up about her first day on set all those years ago.
"I remember my first day coming here and I was terrified," she recounted. "I remember taking Kalms, the herbal tablets, I was so scared.

"And just coming up and seeing the sign – I'd watched the show for years, I was a massive fan. And then just going into my house there."
While Brookside came to an end over 20 years ago, the show has been re-run on STV Player since early 2023, breaking a number of records in the process.
Quickly reaching 1 million streams upon its launch, the soap's second month on the service became the best-ever for STV Player, drawing in 11.6 million.
Meanwhile, last year star Jennifer Ellison – who played Emily Shadwick – weighed in on the idea of a possible Brookside revival, stating: "I'd love to see it come back, it would be amazing."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
